African Fashion has been known to be traditional right from the beginning of time, when all out ancestors had were buba and iro, aso oke, wrappers, etc. to showcase the beauty of their culture.
In the modern day, just like music which has changed and expended over time, it has become something that unites people of all cultures, ages and classes regardless of the barrier that has existed over time.
Now, slowly and gradually, the Nigerian fashion scene has being taking the world by storm; with notable fashion shows like Lagos Fashion Week, Arise Fashion Week, Gtbank Fashion Weekend, just to name a few, where different designers reshape the world of African fashion with their unique designs.
New, upcoming designers now have the space to do more things and showcase their creativity in a way that represents African lineage whilst drawing inspiration from other countries and their cultures; without anybody telling them what to do and how to do it.
Drawing inspiration from M’Siri clothing, the beauty of her designs can be seen in her work because, just like other designers, she has the freedom to create what she wants, which is real and authentic in her work, as she also modernizes African fashion by making use of crepe fabric which was first patented in England. Thus, bringing a new style to the African fashion world.

Looking at the importance of authenticity and culture to M’Siri’s work, her reason for starting a new trend is due to her love for mixing fabrics; with her inspiration being curvy women who would want to be trend setters in the modern world. M’Siri hopes to start a trend of simple, yet classy clothes which can also be attractive to the eyes, with some of her most prominent designs being “The Diamond Dress” and “The Ose Dress”
